For people who are immigrants, communication in English is like never-ending homework.
When I first immigrated in 1977, I wanted to buy a hamburger at a drive-in at McDonald’s. I ordered a hamburger and a Coke.
But I was startled as I drove to the window where the cash register was. There was one hamburger and eight Cokes. I was at a loss how to get through the situation. I insisted that I only ordered one Coke and a hamburger. Then I realized that “a Coke” sounds like “eight Cokes.”
Among people, communication is one important necessity. Communication can not happen by itself.
Genuine communication is as beautiful as the melody on the music sheet.
Autumn, which provides food to all living things, is the result of good communication between heaven and the earth.
How about communication with myself? Most of the time people are busy and their hearts do not dwell on today. People are easily enthusiastic about external things.
If we can communicate well within ourselves, we will learn the precious principle of life and maybe see God's world within us.
We may be at the end of our lives when we discover this.
Is there anybody who will give us a warm word, a piece of hope?
When the darkness falls tonight, let's have a cup of warm herb tea and sit by the window under shining stars. Let's blow away the empty wind inside of us and hug us like counting stars until night. Let's build a path of communication that flows inside of us.
